Most travel guidebooks

As a consequence of a recent change of Library of Congress cataloging policy, travel guides that are general in scope are to be treated as serial publications if they are likely to be continued indefinitely. The term "general" should be interpreted as applying to publications at the major city, state, regional, or national level for the U.S. and at the major city, regional, or national level for other countries. However, guidebooks that address one-time events or have a narrow focus such as locations represented in an artist's paintings are not to be cataloged as serials.
