Publications produced and marketed primarily to be purchased as gifts. Examples include illustrated collections of inspirational, clever, sentimental, or humorous verse, sayings, or quotations not unlike the thoughts, expressions, and sentiments of greeting cards. Gift books are often directed to friends or family members, may address such personal events as weddings or parenthood, or may be intended to celebrate a particular holiday.
