Multipart Sets
Multipart sets are sets that are complete in a finite number of volumes.
The Library treats multipart sets in two ways.
1. It creates a separate catalog record for the individual volumes of the
set.
2. It creates a single record which covers all of the volumes of the set.
In this latter instance, the Library provides CIP data for sets that are new to
the Library based on the earliest volume(s) for which CIP data is requested.
It does not create "added volume" CIP data for additional volumes
of such sets. However, publishers may print unaltered the CIP data provided for
the earliest published volume(s) in any volume(s) subsequently
published.
